Ssdc Financial A Division Of Standard Supply And Distributing Co. Inc. Received a letter in the mail saying that I won $57.000.00. Enclosed was a phoney check Alberta

I received a letter in the mail on Nov. 06.2007. The letter read that our network shows you as the lucky winner of unclaimed prize money in the amount of $57.000.00 in United States Funds. Participants were selected through a computerized ballot system drawn from Readers Digest, Publishers Clearing House, Online Sweepstakes, Internet Games etc. Enclosed is a check for $3, 872.99 which covers the administrative payment and clearance fees of your winnings. For processing of your prize contact your agent Monica Thompson at 1-780-695-5855. Your winnings must be claimed no later than Nov. 22nd. 2007. We advise you to keep your claim number confidential until your claim is processed. The letter was signed by Howard Tourngsant, Prize Co-ordinator. Also at the bottom of the letter it says SSDC Financial a division of Standard Supply&Distributing Co, Inc. 1431 Regal Row, Dallas Tx. 75247. I checked out Standard Supply & Distributing company on the internet and there is a legitimate company with the same address. I also tried to call this Monica Thompson for several days and after one ring the phone went to something that sounded like a busy signal. The check looks like a legit check. The address on the check is: Standard Supply & Distributing Co, Inc.1431 Regal RowDallas TX.75247902-412-2665 The check had Bank One ZBA on it. After researching this on the internet I found that ZBA stands for Zero Balance Account. I am glad I did not try to cash this phoney check. Also the address on the envelope had another different address:5765 Monkland Ave. Montreal QC H4A 1E8 Do not be fooled by these scammers. If you receive a large check in the mail from someone it is probably a hoax.
