Complaint / review / scam report
First let me first start off by saying i grew up getting most of my childhood household and clothing items from Sears in Canada, and my mother was even an employee at this company whom i looked up to as a big department store. Well, with a slogan like, "Satisfaction Guaranteed", how could you go wrong shopping there, right? Well i would like to report my first bad experience with this company, and it happened today. I made an online purchase for a snowblower. Reg. price $1500 and was on sale for $999. So, with the cold season approaching, i decided to, after shopping around for a while, (and a few hours that day); to go with the one from Sears. So, shortly before midnight, i made my purchase, and was given an order confirmation. Nowhere on the web page or the secure checkout did it say anything about the sale ending in EST. Also, i received no email me telling me otherwise. I figured i would go and pick up my snowblower today the 3rd since the sale had ending on the 2nd. The store had no awareness of my purchase, so i proceeded home to give sears customer service a call. I did get through to customer service, and the man i spoke to informed me that i missed the sale due to the time zone change. I asked him If there was anything he could do for me, and he told me no. He was actually quite rude and cynical. So, i decided to call back. Hoping to get someone else who actually cared, but nope, same guy again. He said i wasn't allowed to speak with anyone else, due to legal reasons? As well as there was no one else there, period. Even west jet and most other corporations' sales are honoured by midnight across the country. I wrote the president, and i will keep posted as to what happens. As of now, i am very disappointed.
