I received a check in the amount of $2, 980 alone with a letter stating that I was a lucky winner of unclaimed prize money in the amount of $47, 000. On the check in the upper left hand corner has Morgan Stanley name on it (everyone knows Morgan Stanly) and in the upper right hand corner it has Citibank Delaware (Good bank) on it.
That said, I figure it was good so I proceeded to read the letter and in the letter is has instructions you are to contact Judy McCane at 705-770-2743. BUT, I thought I would contact Citibank first to see if this check was any good, I figure I would cash it at Citibank. (Don't ever deposit anything in your account) Citibank informed me that this was a scam, so I called Morgan Stanley as well and they confirmed that indeed it was a scam and to destroy this check and letter.
