I had purchased on layaway a 6pc bedroom set that was to include a headboard and footboard with side rails, 1 night table, and a dresser with mirror. I had issues going to pay the remainder of my layaway as the business was apparantly closed for rennovations at the location I had originally purchased from at 1400 Aimco Blvd in Mississauga.

I was forced to go to another location (at my inconvenience) as they were very unhelpful and refused to accept C.O.D., at 6 Points Plaza in Etobicoke. I paid the remaining $500.00, and arranged for delivery. ( The total cost of the set including tax was $1065.87) I was told on the outset of the layaway that once it was established, all pieces would be reserved as per the layaway agreement.

The company confirmed delivery with me the day before delivering. When the delivery came, the drivers then notified me that my dresser is not available and is out of stock. Upon calling the company, they said yes it was out of stock and no, they could not tell me when I would be getting one. I told them that was not a good enough answer and I needed my dresser and mirror set. She told me to give her a week. I called back many times that week, and left various messages over the past month, none of which have been returned.

When I last phoned and spoke with her inquiring about floor models, she told me there are none and they don't know what they may have in containers as they are under rennovations. I asked her what she has done to help me and she told me a dresser she found would not match my set. I again inquired when I would be getting my dresser, and again was told, "I don't know." She asked for another week and I said ok, but if you can't find one for me, I want to be reimbursed because I need a dresser.

She agreed and said "yes, because I want this to be over too". My last call was me informing her on the fact that I am planning to return to the Etobicoke location for my refund and she needs to make arrangements for me so I don't have any issues when I got there. She then tried to inform me that the dresser was probably around $150.00. I laughed and said I dont' think so.

The night table was $150. She then claimed she might be able to find me another night table, which I did not want and did not ask for. This was on the 22nd of October. My original delivery date was Oct. 4th. I have called Wallia's now over 15 times from Oct. 4th to Oct. 22nd, and not once have I recieved a phone call back. Every conversation, has been me calling and happening to reach the only contact I was given after complaining, a woman named Baby.(not sure of the spelling)

I am now going on one month without the major part of my purchase, and no closer to any resolution from the company I purchased it from. I am disputing the last payment of $500 that I had made, thankfully on a credit card, and it is now in arbitration. Hopefully a dresser miraculously appears, or I get my $500 back, which still leaves me the worse for wear because I now have to go and look for a dresser, a single unit which costs more than if you purchased it in a set, elsewhere.

I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with a company such as this, that has no regards for keeping thier word or customer satisfaction, never mind just being an honest product/service providing retailer. I am currently looking into legal actions against the company.
