On July 13th 2005 my family bought a maytag range stove at HomeDepot(1900 Baseline Road, 7235900). The model of the stove MER5555QCW. It was then delivered on July 19th 2005. We used the stove for about a week then notice the surface of the stove(not the range top) get very hot untouchable, my wife was cooking and got burn. We called Maytag customerservice, they arrange a technician to come to our home on August 02 to look at the stove. The technician wrote "Checked and found top gets very hot, called tech assisstanced adviced no manufacture limit on top of range. Range test OKEY" "Customer says untouchable".
After checking over the stove, the technician told "what ever we want to do with the stove bring it back to HomeDepot with his report". We did not trust the technician work (he did not test the stove properly like normal cooking technique, and stove manual". So we called Maytag customer service, the dispatcher said the manager is busy on the phone and will call us back later, we waited (unable to do any cooking), but no phone call from Maytag, we called back again the dispatcher still said the manager stil busy, eventually we got called from Maytag manager, they read over the report sent from the technician, and they said that "they can not do anything about it, because all of their stove products got very hot on the surface the same way". We had checked with GE, FRIGIDARE and other stove manufacture company and even our old stove that's still working, they do not get hot on the surface of the stove during cooking at all. Maytag denied what I told them and keep insisting that they will not replace our stove or anything wrong with the stove.
Right now we tried to turn on Maytag stove and it doesn't want to turn on, the indicator light not even working, clock goes on/off when ever it feel like it, even turn the level to high on all burner, but nothing get hot at all. We called back to Young Appliances Services(they authorized by Maytag), they told that they did not cause anything and will not send their technician to look at the stove, we have to pressure them very hard to get the same technician to come over to look at the stove now the technician told that our fuse got blown and he does not have any fuse to test it out and he told us that we have to provide him with a new fuse to test it, but isn't a technician suppose to do test for the customer?? not the customer know any electrical skill to do any of these stuff. The technician told us that to deal back with HomeDepot, so far they had bounce us to call HomeDepot, Maytag many times but nothing got solved
The phone number of maytag customer service which we called was 18006882002 The technician name and address of Young Applicances Services: GLAN 163 Bell St. N 7283417
