Warranty and Tech Support

I bought a HP mini laptop online through Future shop and received in within a week and in that week the laptop had errors stating that files are missing or corrupt. I called HP support and they explained to me that it was out of warranty... I just received this laptop! So I bought an extended warranty for a year and this was on October 20th, 2010. I received the email stating that I purchased it. I own 2 laptops and the mini is one the does not get used very often. I reloaded windows back into the laptop and it worked for another week. Then when I finally had time to sit on the phone for an hour or more to call into tech support again... It was in May of this year. Same error. I talked to someone in tech support explaining that I paid for an extended warranty and for some reason they could not find it... surprise surprise .. I then was pretty frustrated and wanted to talk to the supervisor and he was really nice and helped me and to my surprise found the warranty information and sent me out the box and information to send the laptop in to get fixed, with no cost to me... I was very pleased! He was so understanding and explained to me that the warranty was purchased from the US warranty service and because of all the trouble I was having that he would fix that for me. What he was going to do I dont know, I was just happy that it was going to be fixed. Finally. So when i received the laptop back I turned it on and it worked... for not even a week! same problem! Being a very busy person and not being able to sit on the phone for another hour or so. I finally was able to to call in Aug and try to get it fixed as I talked to a cpu tech here in town and he said it was a bad hard drive. I didn't want him to fix it as my laptop was still under warranty. but to my dismay after sitting on the phone with someone that couldn't hear me and must have repeated everything to me 3 times I was told that they could not help me because there is no record that there is a warranty. ( I have lost the number) My fault, but i explained to him that the supervisor that i talked to in may found it and he helped me. He told me that he could not help me ' bottom line' and told me to call back when I had the number. I looked everywhere for the number and found in me endless emails the actual email stating that I purchased the extended warranty. So i called back and was told that i needed to register my laptop warranty before they could do anything! wow. So after being put on hold for another 1/2 hour I was told that my warranty was canceled back in May and that I no longer had a warranty!!! I explained to him what happened back in may and that the supervisor was to fix that. I guess he did fix that! I am very disappointed in HP and the service that i received. I have now been sent to another department in where they will call me back in 24 - 48 hours. I think this is ridiculous and cannot believe that they canceled my warranty!!! Why would any sane person cancel their warranty with a product that they have had problems with since day one??? I work in an industry in where I can tell my customers and family to not purchase HP products because they do not support the product and you seem to always get the run around and they deny the fact that you already purchased a warranty, and besides it takes you a lot of wasted time on the phone or online to get anything fixed. I will go to the end with this. and will not allow another person to be disappointed with a bad product in which that is HP . I will not even get into the fact that I have had a HP desktop cpu that I have also had problems with and have gave up on. In the last 5 years I have paid over $1200 on HP products and services that has been nothing but a pain in the neck! Do not purchase HP!!! I will never again...
