Had a small order for delivery. Not only did the driver show up an hour late, he proceeded to knock on basement side door forcefully where someone was sleeping when it was clearly stated during the phone call that it was a house with a front door. when i called to the driver, he came around to the front and rudely handed me the food. i let it go and gave a 15% tip regardless. all of a sudden, the driver started yelling that i was "a cheap person" and that he'd "never seen a woman like me before! " as he walked back to his car. i ran back to my house and called the restaurant immediately. unfortunately, the story only gets worse from here..
the woman who answered the phone listened to me politely at first. i explained what had happened and she assured me she'd notify the owner and perhaps have the driver call back and apologize. about a half hour later, i received a call back, but to my shock, the woman proceeded to accuse ME of being rude to the driver first, and went so far as to say i was lying. in the background, i could hear the driver talkng loudly. i couldn't believe what i was hearing. when i asked for a name, she ignored me. to make matters worse, the woman then handed the phone to the driver who continued to accuse me and defend himself horribly when i made my solid points. it was literally like talking to a wall. i think the fact that they both spoke very poor english and had strong accents made it even harder to get my point across.
basically, NO customer should be called "cheap, " ESPECIALLY after getting an approriate 15% tip. it was to the point where it just got ridiculous. the call ended with the man continuing to accuse me of lying and then the woman laughing as she' said "please excuse us." it was beyond frustrating. it's a wonder people like this can even carry on a business.
