Being as naive as one could possibly be, I applied for this loan on line. Doing searches trying to find a loan so I could consolidate my bills, this was the first time I have tried anything like this. Needless to say, it took them 4 months to get in touch with me and tell me that I had been approved for a $20, 000.00 loan. I was informed by the email to contact Peter Lanker as he was the financial advisor assigned to me. I did so, and oddly enough I did so without reservation. This gentlemen informed me that my payments would be around 300.00 a month on a fixed 5%APR.
Everything sounded good to me. Then he told me that due to my credit score, I would have to pay 985.00 to insure my loan because the bank wouldn't insure it. So, against my better judgement I sent that via western union. Total cost now, $1066.00.
After the western union was filed I called Mr. Lanker back and gave him the confirmation number and he informed me that he would be calling me back in a couple hours with a confirmation number of my own. This was Friday. As of today I have received nothing back from this man, nor will he answer his phone. Ironic isn't it. I should have known something was up when he wouldn't answer his phone from my number, and I had to use a different phone number to call him from.
The Western Union was to be sent to a Patrick Hyatt. That should have tipped me off too. Unfortunately I fell vicitim to this scam that they are running. DON'T GO TO ROYALFINANCEGROUP.COM. All they are going to do is take your money and leave you broke. I could have spent that money on other things, like food in my house for my kids.
Needless to say, I have spent many hours trying to get this guy on the phone, sending him email after email, and still nothing. The worst part of this whole thing. they now have everything on me they need to take my identity. My SSN, my address, my checking account number. I have to go close all these accounts, talk to Social Security, DMV, and the bank. Not to mention change my email address due to some of my email being deleted by someone and not by me.
I filed a police report with my local police dept. and have also filed a internet crime report with the canadian police. Heed warning my fellow loan shoppers, go to a bank to get a loan, at least then if they don't like your credit they will just tell you NO.
