I am a deputy sheriff out of Minnesota and too was not given a refund by Mark Johnson of Golden Harvest. Everyone I see complaining here needs to stop bothering with the BBB and contact the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION if they feel they were scammed.
What Golden Harvest is doing is called the advance fee loan scam, its all clearly written out on the Federal Trade Commission's website and under Federal Statutes. Everyone who feels their refund was wrongfully held needs to contact your local police department and file a theft/fraud report. You also need to contact the FBI and also file a complaint with the federal trade commission. The Federal Trade Commission does regular sweeps across the nation shutting down companies that are in violation of federal law. Please remember though, it could take the FTC years to complete an investigation, and if arrests are made, in the end, not only will a company in violation be ordered to pay redress, but owners and employees could face jail sentences. Please, please, please go the the FTC website and read on these types of crimes. I see alot of people writing here that they are contacting their attorney, well great, but a private civil attorney can do nothing to put a stop to a website commiting crimes. All a private, civil attorney can do is begin the process of a civil claim, or a class action suit. Again, not stopping the website or its activities. Please remember that your local police department, regardless of how big your city is, is NOT going to get excited over your $99 loss, believe me, I know, and its sad. This is why everyone must contact the FBI and the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. Please remember that its NOT illegal to file a claim with ANY of these agencies if your acting in good faith and you feel your money was wrongfully held. So ignore any threatening e-mails or postings from "DAVE", "MARK" or anyone claiming they are from Golden Harvest. I have read some extremely disturbing posts here from people claiming to be Golden Harvest representative threatening to contact employers and file complaints with them. These people, if they are in fact affiliated with Golden Harvest need to understand that not only can they face charges for financial crimes, but to threaten to contact an employer and file a complaint without just cause is also illegal. Please remember, Golden Harvest has every right to defend themselves, but they need to do so in a professional and lawful manner. To threaten civil lawsuits and complaints with employers in BAD FAITH is also illegal. Everyone please remember that as long as your acting in good faith, posting a complaint here or filing a complaint with the BBB, FTC or local law enforcement is NOT ILLEGAL and you will NOT be punished criminally or civily for doing so. Threatening emails and posts from ANY company are usually done for the sole purpose of scaring people into not getting involved.
To date, I have no information on any pending criminal or civil lawsuits against Golden Harvest. This includes any class action lawsuits.
If your a representative from Golden Harvest, dont bother posting a reply to this message. I have been in contact with you before and you know who I am, save your breath for the Federal Trade Commission.
