This company is just like all of the other rip-off loan scams in Canada. I was in desperate need of a loan and they were they only ones who seemed to offer me one despite my credit.
I was approved for $50, 000. I only had to fax a copy of my DL, SS card and last copy of my paycheck. The lady that I spoke to is Karen Schultz, ( if that is even her real name!). First I thought that this is a dream come true, to get a loan for that much with poor credit. I was also instructed to send in the first three payments which was about $1370.00 before the money would be deposited into my account. I became suspicious days later because if its too good to be true then it probably is!!
I searched the internet for this company and could not find it. I even searched the Canada business directory and still couldn't find the business. I contacted "Karen" and told her. SHe didn't seemed upset, but very nice, professional, and reassuring and tried to get me to send in the money after every objection that I made. I was getting ready to send in the money the next day.
I looked on the internet one last time thinking maybe I haven't looked in all the right places. Right before I was getting ready to get up, I typed in the search word "loan scams", and there they were, pages of loan scams describing this company to the letter!
There are many loan scams originating in Canada, all are the same: Send copies of SS card, DL Card, last paycheck, first 3 or 4 payments in advance. Right then I knew that my suspicions were right. I so glad I didn't send in my money because I show couldn't afford to lose it. They may also be in connection with Fresh Start Financial in Detroit. I called them and they gave me this lender. There office sounds shady too. There number is 1-866-227-7818.
Some phone numbers for J. Goodman are 647-999-2157, 416-871-5286, fax (which changes constantly every time I called), 647-999-9676. Every time I called the phone number was changed also and different people answered the phone that acted like they didn't know anything. I called one time and a lady answered and couldn't answer any questions. She said, 'I don't know anything, call back and talk to Karen! ". "Oh, this doesn't sound legit", I immediately thought.
J. Goodman Private Trust, "Karen Schultz", you have been revealed. I doubt very seriously if you are legit, why don't you shut down your business and get a real job and leave us hard-working people alone? Liars never win, LEAVE US ALONE!!
