"US Guardian" called me on my cell phone and said that I had qualified for a credit card with a $2500 limit. Stated that it was interest free with no monthly charges, just needed a membership fee. Told me that they would send the card right away and $199.00 would be taken from my account on October 24, 2002, so I could cash advance the amount from the card.
Gave me a phone number, person's name, temporary PIN. The card never came. October 24 rolled around and the $199.00 was taken from my account. When I called the number given, always got a recording saying that all customer service agents were busy and call back later. After several days of trying the number had been changed. Now that number is disconnected. Never received the credit card.
