Vo's Nails
Atrocious behaviour of the proprieto

I had the most horrible experience at Vo's. I am not sure who is the owner... there is this woman by name Ben or Bieu and she acts as the owner. I have a been a regular customer of Vo's nails but I am one of those they don't recognize every time I go in. In my last few visits I realized something is going on at my back. It all started when I wasn't sure which color to choose, as perplexed I was with the colors, I took few colors and tried on one of my toe nails to see if it blended well with my skin tone. They somehow think customers cannot try colors and they should grab one. The woman (May) who did my pedicure did not like this and she started mumbling something in her language and the other woman Ben came running and snatched two bottles away from me and in a confrontational tone told me I cannot have multiple colors. I let it go that time as I thought it could be a language barrier issue. I did not say a word. Throughout the time, they were yapping in their language but it was evident they were talking about me as the other stafff exchanged looks. I tip them generously as always and its strange even after you tip them more than average they still don't acknowledge you, after all these business do not care for customer base.

The next time I went there, May recognized me and started passing remarks to her colleagues, this time it was Ben who did my pedicure. I choose two colors and proceeded to sit, this woman was furious and said which one you want, I said I would like to try on one of my toe nails before deciding, she was very reluctant and started handling me hard, she was literally ordering me and I was pregnant and couldn't lift my feet as how she wanted me to. She grabbed my legs and kept yelling at me. I continued to ignore it as I still wasn't sure if this was ignorance or arrogance. I paid with good tips and walked out. I must be really stupid to go there the next time as well, this time it was a polish change and the stafff who changed my polish was novice and she painted my cuticles as well. This time I chose one color but the stafff herself told me the polish is so diluted and that she would bring another color, Ben noticed this as the stafff brought me two other shades that I did not ask for. I asked her to fix it and Ben/Bieu came running and shouted what I wanted; I told her the issue and she said she could fix it; she had to redo the whole thing as it was that worse and she continued muttering in her language to her other stafff and as usual it continued. This time I felt awkward because it was n't my fault and I need at least good service if not great. I proceeded to check out and i found a color that I wanted to buy, she asked me come later as she was busy. I avoided going there but I couldn't find that color anywhere near proximity, so I went there following week just to buy the nail polish. Once I went in, Ben started yapping again so loud that one customer actually had to strain her neck to have a look at me. I asked the sales girl if she can help me, she took the tray and was willingly showing the colors and I thought I can buy more than one. The color I wanted was not there in the fresh stock and she started looking around for it.By this time Ben started yelling at me, she does not have time for this and asked me to leave. I found that super rude and before I thought I might lose my patience i thought I would leave. I left the facility and after 2 minutes of walking the sales girl came running to me she found the color. So I proceeded to go in again and Ben was there reminding me she had asked me to leave. I told her that is so rude and she needs to refine her language. She was furious and started telling me how her staff hate me because I try colors and no body likes to do a pedicure. She continued to say that she does not need customers like me and was swaying her hands at me like she was shooing a dog. I felt so embarrassed and being pregnant I felt so stressed to go through this. I have sensed they treated women of color differently but I thought I should ignore. She was yapping in half Vietnam and half English. I had to tell her that I have been a regular customer and if she had issues with me choosing colors it has to be conveyed respectfully. She did not listen, partly because they cannot communicate in English. I walked away before it could go elsewhere. It was a painful experience and I failed to nip it in the bud. Patience / tolerance will not work with uncivilized people like this. I will of course never go there again. I wish someone could teach her a lesson someday; they run this business and feedback like this will not impact them as they profit through the moving population.
