I Just recieved a phone call from a gal claiming to work for Oasis Travel Club. She informed me that I was a 2nd place winner in a sweepstakes an I won a family vacation to Florida and the Bahamas. Oh how wonderful this would be!! Yes, an all expense paid trip would be great, but considering the fact that I did not enter any sweepstakes got me suspicious.
I told her that I thought this was a scam and she insisted it wasn't. She wanted me to pay $319.00 for taxes and port fees. I told her that if I actually won this trip I did not intend to pay for anything. Besides I do not have that kind of money just laying around for frivolous things. But she kept insisting that I needed to pay this to get my stuff in the mail. The conversation was being recorded as I was informed.
I told the gal that I would have to wait for my husband to come home and make a decision so she got a little huffy and said she would call me back. Ha, I guess we will see if she actually does. It is a good thing that I found ripoff report a few months ago. I check here for everything suspicious and it has helped alot. To everyone who gets this call from Oasis Travel Club, it is a scam. Afterall how many 2nd place winners can there be?? What was first prize anyways?!!!
