I am a local Kamloops resident and was trying to visit a friend who was staying at this Motor Inn. I got a little lost and ended up talking to the front desk clerk at the Country Inn and Suites who informed me that both establishments had the same owner and same policy. It was 11:00 PM at night and I was told that I was not allowed to visit my friend because visiting hours were only until 10:00 PM and that he was going to phone the other front desk clerk at the Kings Motor Inn to specifically stop me from visiting my out-of-town friend. He was rude to the point of being absolutely arrogant. I can appreciate that some places have visiting hours... if they are hospitals, but a motel?!? I am a very quiet person and am pretty considerate, but being treated like I was a criminal was pretty inexcusable. I do not recommend the Kings Motor Inn nor the County Inn and Suites to anyone who is active after 10 at night. In fact, just for the bad service alone, I don't recommend either of these motels at all to anyone. If they are this rude in this instance, I can only assume they are just as rude in other matters. Avoid both these places unless you want friends and family treated like they are infants. At $60 a night you would expect a little more common sense from either of these places that are supposed to assist the public as opposed to alienating and frustrating them.
