I received a letter with no return address from Canada. After opening, there was a check for $4, 500 drawn off United Commercial Bank out of Fremont CA. The letter states my husband's a winner in 2nd category of Sweepstakes and Lottery Draw.
Enclosed, was a check for $4, 500 to be used to pay taxes in the amount of $2850 via Western Union or Money Gram. Our prize was $55, 000! [After being in a car accident days ago, I thought this could be a Godsend! ]
The letter advises not to act on this notice until speaking to a claim agent (John Crawford) on how to claim winnings. It's signed John Garfield (Promotions Manager) Thank goodness, I went to this website or I certainly would've called this number to claim our prize right away!
