Similar to the Pompey, NY post regarding Cooper Standard Inc. "Secret Shopper" scam (David H Sullivan, HR Mgr, Ontario, CA, etc.). I had been selected to be a Secret Shopper, but there were several grammatical flaws in the letter, similar to the scam email from Nigerian diplomats and the like.
The letter directed me to evaluate the appearance and performance of a Western Union facility in my area, fax an evaluation form to a Debra Taylor (fax- 1-484-918-3710). Letter includes a Code of Ethics to support the ruse, and www.usaconsumercomplaints.com was my first stop upon receipt.
Needless to say the check was shredded and in the garbage, and I have a strong urge to fax an expletive-laden response to the source.
If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
