I was sent a letter in the mail and the envelope had no return address and a stamp from canada.
Inside it had a check for 1, 360. $1000 was for me to send a money gram to a close friend or family.($60 was for the price of the money gram) Then I was to take $100 and buy merchandice from sears. Lastly the $200 was for my training.. It said to call this number to release the check. I called the number and my phone said the number was from ON. she told me to do all this but make sure i cashed the check within 4 days or the check would no longer be good.
I went to my bank, and thankfully their system was down, cuz the teller was going to cash my check. Since I never cashed a check like this one she got her manager. She said "this is fraud", of coarse i got upset. I made my self look like an ass, then she took me to her office and googled "shadow shoppers" and scams popped up every where..
I was so embarressed. here I was going to do my job and earn money. I am thankful because the lady said if I was to cash it and it bounced, they would of called the police.
