I understand the terms used in the dog breeding community can be confusing for the uneducated public on dog disorders.
It is best to look up dog breed clubs and see what health related diseases are known to the breeds or mixes.
Several emails listed below where Jamie Sheppard of Winsome Kennels writes about is dogs not being tested.
I have seen Misty health testing, in the Jamie files send to me.
Maybe since one of his 50 dogs is fully tested he feels he can call all his adults and puppies fully health tested.

His parents both are breeding dogs and have been tested. He has not had any extensive tests done. Vet says he's as healthy as a horse, for a dog.
I got an email back from Jamie at Winsome Kennel, this is what he said:
I have x-rays but I don't do eye cerf or thyroid work. 5 years breeding Goldendoddles and over 500 pups a year and I've never had a claim for either.
I've bred retrievers for over 10 years and never had eye or thyroid issues as well.
Having that information, would you like to pursue? I appreciate you concern, it's funny, but I never thought to worry about these things with Logan. I guess you always thing your own is flawless. LOL

Rachael said to ask for a list of purchasers with dogs that are at least

This is the veterinarian that Mr Sheppard uses, three hours away from
the kennel. I called them and they told me that he brings hundreds of
puppies to them each year for shots. They do not keep any records on
the puppies they inoculate but leave all record keeping up to Mr.
Sheppard.

I didn't realize that retrievers suffer from eblow problems and hip. She has a piece in her elbow that didn't attach. The vet said this is hereditory and asked if the parents had been checked. When we contacted Jamie he was very rude to us over suggesting he produced an unhealthy dog. He told us we would need to pay for shipping and have our dog returned to him. Once he recieved our her only then would he offer us a replacement puppy. He then informed us he would be putting her down. His health guarantee is set up that no one would ever return their pet to him to be killed.
I would not trust this breeder or recommend any puppies from him.
I can go on and post endless emails from angry or disappointed people over Jamie Sheppard at winsome kennels.
I have also heard good comments, from buyers.
This really comes down to Jamie name calling and blaming all his problems on the victoria breeder (Alena).
As I know Alena and feel she is a victim to Jamies Sheppard hate crime, I will stand up and defend her.
