I received a letter today 5/6/8 and a check for $2495.00, congratulating me for being selected to participate in a paid consumer research program. The letter and the check look real. The break down for this money is as follows: $200.00 to the employee, $50.00 for purchases at Walmart and keep the receipt, $50.00 for purchases at J.C. PENNEY receipt is required also, $20.00 for lunch bonus. Then make a money gram transfer for the amount of $2, 080.00 plus $95.00 transfer fee, for a total of $2495.00 . I went online to find the bank and phone number. I called to see if the check was real. When I spoke with a bank representative, he explained he has been receiving calls all day about these checks. The bank does exist but the routing number and the account number do not exist.
