If you're in retailing and if you use Canada Post, don't trust the shipping costs Online at Canada Post they are not as accurate as the outdated shipping grids they have in the grocery stores. Online shipping prices change hourly. If you tell a client that the shipping cost for an item will be $10.34 on a $6.00 item, tomorrow it could be $9.36 to ship. It can also go down to $8.74 without notice and back up to $9.56 (Shipping cost added to purchase Price of course).
When you get to the Post Office you will get yet another shipping price, such as in my case, $12.56 to which they will add tax for a total of $13.33 (tax is included online according to the Ombudsman at Canada Post). Have fun with Canada Post, they'll take you for a ride with your money, You Lose!
I sold my $6.00 item at a 130% loss because of shipping price discrepencies at Canada Post. The attendant on the phone at Canada Post estimated the shipping cost with me and we both came up with the same price online. While we were talking, I made the same same shipping cost estimate online. He also did it again and we both came up with a different price. All this happened within a few minutes.
Apparently, I'm the only person who complains about this!!! But, he did say I wasn't a liar
