I put an ad on Craigslist to sell my leather sofas and an arm chair for $1500. Right away I got an email from '[email protected]' asking for more pictures which I did. And then same person contacted me with different email '[email protected]', I guess he had too many different emails and forgot to send me with a same email.

As soon as he brought up PayPal (no Cash) suggestion, I was a little suspicious. I only gave him my pick up address and didn't give him the account number. Not much after, I received an email from a shipping company called 'world wide speed post' by Lisa Xavier '[email protected]', saying they want to arrange a pick up. But the funny thing is only few minutes later this guy sent me another message saying:
> Thank you so much. I have forwarded the address to the shipping company so
> they can calculate the pick up and delivery cost for me to make the payment.
> I'm sure they will contact you soon. I would like you to know that the
> payment will be made via PayPal because is fast and secured to send and
> received money online, All you have to send me is your paypal email address
> so I can make the payment immediately.
I checked the company name on Google and there was a similar company name called 'speed post in Singapore' which looks like a real company. Still it didn't make sense. I live in Canada, why would someone buy furniture offshore? And I found out the complaints on this website. Thanks to you!!!
I believe he is only looking for things that are expensive and heavy so that he can make excuses of the weight and money security to scam people.
THE IMPORTANT THING IS WHENEVER PEOPLE ASK YOU TO SEND THEM ANY MONEY ONLINE (DOESN'T MATTER WHAT KIND OF BRILLIANT REASONS THEY GIVE YOU), YOU GOTTA SUSPECT IT AS SCAM.
