I gave these people artwork at 100% with a .25" bleed and they resized the art to include the bleed. The proof that they provided clearly showed a cut mark, but the company denies all liability.
The coasters were for a restaurant that is opening next month and now we cannot use them because they look really bad. We basically threw $800 down the toilet.
They sent back an email that states:
"I am sorry to hear you are not happy with the coasters but it was explained to you on a number of occasions what those lines represented. We cannot Die-cut that close to the image. We require a minimum of 3/16" of printed area that is not 'critical image' and the distance between those two lines on the printed coaster is 3/16". This ensures that when we Die-cut the coasters, the finished coaster is centered and looks well balanced."
-Now if you could read and comprehend above a 4th grade level, they basically said that they require 3/16" of bleed. I provided them 1/4" bleed and they resized the image and fit a 3.75" coaster design into a 3.5" space. I talked to the guy on the phone ONCE about the lines and he told me that the inner red circle on the proof was the cut mark.
My advice is to avoid them for any printing work. They obviously don't know what they are doing.
