My girlfriend and I purchased 2 Electra bikes from a shop called Denman Bike Shop in Vancouver B.C. on Saturday the 5th of June 2010, at first the sales people were very helpful in helping us pick out the perfect Electra cruiser bikes which we both REALLY like. After paying one of the shop hands even helped us load my girlfriend's bike into the car and I was to pick up my bike the following Monday the 7th. That day my Grandma passed away and I had to leave the province so I had the bike shop hold onto my bike and not build it until I got back for fear of it getting damaged sitting in the show room. Upon returning Saturday the 12th I called the shop and they said they hadn't picked the bike up saying they didn't have room in their shop to store it assembled or not and I had to wait until Tuesday now because more people had bikes to be built in the mean time which meant I got bumped on the priority list saying "you went away" as if it's my fault. That Monday the 14th I went down to the shop for answers to why I was being delayed to which a mechanic explained the women in charge (Julie) likes to leave everything to the last minute which upset me, however their was nothing I could do so I went home after he assured me they would call the next day when the bike was ready. The next day I got up ready to forgive and forget so I waited for the call, and waited, and waited, finally with the shop closing in a few hours and rush hour looming I decided to call and the person on the other end said "Was I suppose to call you? ' sarcastically as if they didn't like me for the trouble I'd caused them. So I drive down in the middle of
rush hour which made the ten minute drive over an hour to arrive at the bike shop, There was my beautiful bike in the show room with all the others the very place we tried to avoid having it, so I asked the same women (Julie) "How long has it been on the floor for? ' and she
replied that "it had just been built" no sooner did she say that the mechanic came and said "it was built at ten am and we forgot to call him" so I turn and say "didn't you just say it was just built" and she got so angry at me because I caught her in a lie saying "it was a smokeshow in here all day" and "we've been at a bike trade show all morning" I replied that's not my concern and that I was happy they were looking after new and future customers all day but forgot to help out me a current one" to this she got really angry with me and the other guy their had to calm her down then he turned to me and said "every other customer left satisfied today but you" again I said I didn't care they should provide better customer service when I spend $700 per bike plus $160 for a couple accessories and tax. to which he just went "really your not happy" and brought up how it was my Grandma's death that had me upset which was so wrong, my Grandma had an amazing long life and died in a very peaceful way. I was upset solely with them, none of them could even look me in the eye as I walked out with my bike no good luck or thank you for shopping nothing they watched me walk outside and load it on top of my car which I struggled with cutting open my nose in the process. I am so very upset I shopped spending my hard earned money at that store. Since then we've already been asked several times about the bikes but we tell this story to everyone saying don't buy from Denman Bike Shop they treat customers like garbage. I am merely concerned about the representation of such beautiful bikes like these they deserve better, I
felt i deserved better. Thank you for reading, DON'T USE DENMAN BIKE SHOP, their are many other places in Vancouver to get the same bikes!!
