I received an award letter from the North American Prize Pool notifying me I was one of their prize pool winners. I was told to call the number listed in my award letter to claim my prize. In that letter was a check for $4950.00 made payable to me. I called the number, and my check was "validated". I deposited the check, and one week later withdrew the funds to pay the taxes. Once the taxes were paid, I received notice from my bank the check was returned unpaid.
I contacted Mr. Mark Coco, and he said the matter would be taken care of immediately. I now am responsible for covering the amount of the returned check.
This company is ripping off anyone who participates in the prize pool. I was more than a little skeptical of the check, but I had the bank examine it to verify its authenticity. The bank said it was an authentic check. I now face coming up with the amount of the check that was withdrawn for the taxes, and I am out the money. These people are scam artists, and no one should fall prey to their tactics.
