My husband was told in the letter that they had made many unsuccessful attempts to contact him regarding this winning and he was therefore entitled to the sum of $125, 000.00 US dollars; apparently there were 32 declared winners.
His claim number (QUE/PM137BW) was assigned to their North American Claims Affiliate, and to expedite processing they were asking for an amount of $3, 875 to be paid either by Western Union or Moneygram directly to the tax agent.
He was also urged to keep this winning "confidential" until the claim was processed and the cash remitted to him as this is a part of their security protocol to avoid double claiming or "unscrupulous acts" by non participants taking "advantage of this program".
Unfortunately a lot of people out there will fall for this type of scam. There was a paragraph in this letter that also told me to beware; this is what the paragraph read:
The tax amount is USD $3, 875 (Two thousand eight hundred and seventyfive dollars) to be paid either by Western Union or Moneygram directly to the tax agent.
