My father received a letter from Gruppo Lottomatica informing him he had won $75, 810.00. They sent him a check for $3, 975.00 through the Whiting Corporation in Monee, Illinois.
My husband and I felt it was counterfeit, so we tried calling the number to the Claims Agent. It was a recording, the voice box was fiull and no messages could be left. We also called the number in Nova Scotia and a man with an Indian accent answered the phone and would not give out any information as to what type of business it was.
We did not let this go to the bank because of our suspicions. I hope there are others who do investigating before going to the bank. We saved my dad alot of grief over this.
