First I want to start off by saying that this is a great website. If I didn't find this information I would have for sure cashed the check and became a victim of a very bad scam. I received a check in the mail on 04/30/07 for the amount of $4, 950.00 with the following statement.
"Enclosed is a check in the amount of $4, 950.00. You are being paid from the sponsorship fund as provided by City Financial Inc. The total charges payable are from the money your received from this promotion and as such, there will be no out of pocket expenses to be made, your only obligation is to pay the tax charges."
I was instructed to call Mr. John Bull (shit) at (647) 887-8583 within 10 business days of the notice for further clarification.
Sounded very tempting... I am so glad to find information on this site first before doing anything stupid. Thank you all for sharing your own experiences and information.
