Thought I would repost here under the Canadian across-the-border category.
I was just ripped off by these scamsters in the last few days.
Same routine, responded to ad for Help Desk people, got the questionaire, got the call from "Lisa", got the e-mail from "Melanie Paquette" with the "offer" of $42k per year.
Stupidly, I went ahead and filled out the paperwork and sent the freakin' money order for $75 PLUS a copy of my birth certificate (DOH!)
What a deep scam this one is... I mean multiple e-mails from 2 different "people" (probably the same person) and the phone call, all to get a relatively small dollar amount and personal information. Bizarre.
Please post below any information and suggestions you have, along with any and all phone numbers for reporting these "people" and any ideas on what to do next.
