I recieved a phone call offering me a Visa or MC with the minimum of a $1500 limit up to $3000 max. Also I was offered a package that would include a free cell phone, computer, $500 in grocery coupons, a vacation cruise, and 60% off medical and legal services. Sound to good to be true doesn't it? But the lady I spoke to she said her name was Sara Mathews assured me that the company had been in business for years and that it is not a scam. All of these things were free just that you had to sign on for a year of cell phone and internet service to get the Motorola cell phone and Gateway Computer. (good scam she even came up with the name brands of the "free" items.) ha ha.
So like a SUCKER I gave my banking info. It was for $274.00. Sara then transfered me to her "boss" to record the conversation and he (Kevin Johnson) told me to only say YES or NO to the question during the recording. As soon as I hung up I had an uncomfortable feeling. So I jumped online to do some research about the company. This is when I read everybody's rip off stories that are so similar to mine that I just had to write this one!!
They gave me a 1-866-845-#### number telling it was customer service if I had any questions. Everytime I call that number to cancel the transaction, no one ever answers! Just a woman saying this is customer service, leave a message!! Unlike the other people who have written their stories about being ripped off, my money has not been taken out of my acct yet. I am typing this literally just minutes after I got off the phone with this fradulent company.
Hopefully I will be able to call my bank and get this stopped! I even called directory assistance to see if such a company exists and DA told me it is located in Montreal Quebec! I live in Illinois! How did they get my info! I have tried to call back and the phone just rings, no one answers. That supposed customer service number is just an answering system. These people need to stop targeting us hard working individuals and GO TO HELL! I am a young (mid twenties) single mother that works full time and goes to college. I cant afford this $274.00 just to be scammed!
