I recieved a phone call on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 12:17pm from a lady named Janet ID#754. She explained to me that I had been approved for a unsecured Mastercard through Prime One Financial for a credit limit of $1000.00 with a one time fee of $187.00. She gave me a confirmation number and a customer service number 416-542-1611. She explained that I would have to give her my checking and savings account numbers to wire the money and I would recieve the card 20 days after the wire went through. She explained that as soon as our conversation was complete, there would be a second phone call in approximately 30 minutes to confirm everything. Luckily I'm not as nieve as some, and I explained that I was not comfortable giving my account information over the phone, especially to a credit card company that I never applied to. She explained to me that my bank was a very large bank and had strict privacy and security policies and that I had nothing to worry about. While she was attempting to persuade me to give my information, I was infront of my computer so I did a search for the company name and this website showed up. I asked her about it and she hung up without another word. She did not realize that she was calling a mobile phone with caller id. The phone number that appeared was 416-977-1822. I'm blessed that I'm not out $187.00 as that is alot of money to me, but the idea that I was the potential victim of a scam did bother me a great deal. I hope whatever you get from my experience, if anything, will help you all recover what was stolen from you. Good luck!
