The Internet Marketing Center
"It was Like Flushing $6, 000 Down the Toilet"

I wish I knew about this website back in '05 when I invested my money with this company. Hopefully they have either discontinued the program or gotten better, but just in case they have not I want to record this as a word of caution to anyone considering any of their "mentorship"-oriented services. I've long since recovered from this but I woud like to help newbies avoid when I went through when I was in their shoes.

When I signed up for the IMC's "Advanced Mentoring Program" it was shortly after the untimtely accidental death of the company's founder, Cory Rudl (RIP). I have never heard anything bad about Cory personally. If anything, my story may be more of a cautionary tale t hat illustrates why you should only work 1 on 1 with the actual "guru"/coach rather than paying to be coached by their subordinate minions--and even then you should be careful (just search for the name of your favorite "guru" on here and you'll see what I mean).

At any rate, I invested $6, 000 in coaching with the IMC because I wanted to improve the performance of my online business (the first one that I ever ran) which was a weight loss website at the time. I was making $300-$500 monthly on autopilot but I knew that if I got coaching from an expert I could easily scale that up to $3, 000 - $5, 000 per month. What I had worked, I just needed it to work on a larger group of people and/or with a higher conversion rate. Again, I was a newbie and there was a lot that I did not know.

The person who was assigned to coach me was a guy in Vancouver who supposedly had generated a six-figure income as an expert affiliate marketer (if that was really so, then why was he worked a job??? Ah, the blindness of youth!).

My issue with him was that he didn't know any more than I did. His feedback would be things like "you need to split test"; well, I was ALREADY doing that. I didn't need to pay $6k for someone to tell me to split test. I could read that in a free newsletter. What I needed was a proven expert who could instantly look at my model and tell me 3-5 ways in which I could change it to make more money. Today, if I met someone who was making the money I was making then with the exact model, I could easily point out a few things that they should change to increase their results.

To make a long story short, after 6 months (actually I shudder to call it "6 months". It was really one hour session EACH month... it was really more of a half-day all together... what a rip off) my numbers had improved 0% as a result of what I learned from my $6, 000 "mentor" who wasn't even worth the cell phone minutes that I invested into our "coaching calls".

Avoid this company like the plague unless you have the time and resources to perform a detailed vetting of their current an past students for the same product or program.
