Fraudulent notification of "prize money" from answering internet surveys

My minor daughter received a scam letter from Allpay.net stating that she had won $47, 570.00 USD from answering internet surveys. Enclosed was a check for $2, 680.00 which was supposed to be a portion of the prize money. The check was issued by North Dallas Bank & Trust Company in Dallas, TX from BuySmart Supply, Inc. in Farmers Branch, TX. Obviously this was some sort of ripoff. I'm guessing they were hoping that if she deposited the check, they could get her account information. I have no idea where they got her name and address, but since everything was lower case it was very suspicious. Supposedly Allpay was holding the money. They wrote in their letter: "Your winnings are now deposited with us and insured in your name. To cover the clearing fees; you will find an enclosed check in the amount of $2, 680 which is deduced from your winnings." I noticed that your site had another complaint from someone who had apparently "won" money and was sent a check from North Dallas Bank & Trust, also from a "BuySmart" company.
