I joined Xcel Fitness in July 2008 and signed on with a personal trainer. While everything looked basically okay in the walk-around tour, once I began using the equipment (cardio), I realized most of it was either broken or in disrepair. The "personal trainer" I had at Xcel had no qualifications whatsoever. The advice he dispensed re: dietary restrictions, I know as a health profession was downright dangerous.
Then in November, Xcel tried to slide extra charges in on my credit card. I filed a dispute with Visa and Xcel would not answer the credit card company's inquiry so I won and Visa put the money back on my card. Xcel then put my account in collections without ever contacting me.
I am currently in small claims proceedings with Xcel. Anyone with a similar situation is welcome to contact me on this site. I need all the help I can get with these people.
