Sold a 3G Mobile phone, UK unit and 3G band is different

I just want to let people know about the attitude and customer service I have just received.

I purchased a Nokia E71 from Fone Eleven at the Coquitlam Centre and received an English unit!!!

The English unit does not and will never work with the North American 3G network.

Their intial response, when I returned the phone and pointed this out, was 'You did not ask for a phone with 3G' ( I didn't ask for a Charger, Battery, Contacts List etc should I consider myself grateful?)

Now I paid $600 (cash if the tax man is reading) for this unit, so I did not get a healthy discount because of its limited functionality. Nor does any of their sales literature suggest my 3G phone actuallly isn't 3G.

So I went back again and asked them to change it under warranty, where I was told 'isn't it obvious all our phones are import, none of them work on 3G'. The sales person then calls the manager and puts me on to him
The manager asks me 'to hang up the phone, so other customers can get through' and for me to 'call him and discuss this from my phone'

Anyway, I am stuck with a basically usless phone and the prospect of going to court. Don't get caught out by these guys!!!
