I received in the mail - yesterday 06/14/07- a letter from Premier Random Lotto stating that I was a winner and my lucky numbers are 12-23-15-27-33 and would receive a lump sum of $130, 000.00. Also included with this letter is a check from Bank of the Sierra in Porterville, California, the check is from Sierra View District Hospital in the amount of $2, 997.90.
This is supposedly a sponsor's check to assist me with international clearance fees. The letter also states to contact THOMAS CARTER of ALPHA FINANCIAL GROUP and accredited agency to PREMIER LOTTO at 1-204-887-6679. I knew for a fact that this was a scam and called the Bank of the Sierra first at 559-782-4900 (there is no # listed on the check and had to research online) - the bank is aware that these checks are fraudulent as of yesterday 06/14/07.
I also contacted the Sierra District Hospital at 559-784-1110 and they are aware of this as well. PLEASE DO NOT CASH THESE CHECKS! I also contacted Mr. Carter at the number listed and I was hung up on - wonder why?
PLEASE BE SMART AND NEVER THINK THAT YOU WILL GET SOMETHING FOR FREE unless it is with your state lottery system and you have purchased your ticket! I truly hope that no one has been affected by this scam.
Thank you - Concerned, The Woodlands, Texas
