In February 2007, I purchased tickets to attend the Real Estate Wealth Expo in Toronto Ontario. Donald Trump and a few other Real Estate Investors were there, also Tony Robbins. We went to this seminar, listened to them all talking about how easy it is to get credit to buy/purchase Real Estate, even with bad credit.
At the end of these seminars, they tell you that all you have to do is spend $1995.00 to get training to become a millionaire, what a joke. There was no mention of these sales pitches when they were advertising their Expo, if they did, they would not of sold so many tickets.
It was a very tiring and disappointing weekend. Running from one millionaire to another with their so called promises of becoming rich, and even bringing people from Mexico and abroad to tell their stories of how this millionaire has helped them become rich. There were no flyers/handouts/information, only exhibits where other companies were selling their properties. I was not expecting this.
After attending this Expo, I was sent emails from Learning Annex, I never responded to any. Then I received a phone call from someone, telling me that another person was going to contact me about a 14 day free trial. No one ever did, and than all of a sudden, I was billed over $43.00 per month, for the past two months for what I do not know.
I called a 1 800 number in June and they told me someone would call me back, nothing but a lie. When I noticed that they billed me the second time, I went into one of their emails and sent a reply and requested to have these payments stopped and to also request that someone contact me, to date no one has contacted me. The telephone number listed on 411.ca and in our local telephone book for Learning Annex is out of service. So, I do not know who to call.
I contacted my credit card company to request to have my credit card number changed due to this problem, and they told me, that it may not stop the payments from going through. The only solution they gave me was to continue trying to contact Learning Annex and also that they will mail out a form for me to complete so that they can act on my behalf with Learning Annex, I am waiting for this to arrive.
Now, I am worried, as while attending the Expo, they had a special on attending another Expo next year 2008, I purchased four more tickets, they have already been billed to my credit card, I am affraid that they will not send them to me. I would personally rather not attend, I would like to have a refund, but as I read in some of these reports, people are told there are no refunds.
I will continue to try and get a telephone number that I can call and speak with someone about this. If not, I am hoping that the credit card company can somehow stop these payments from going through or sort things out with the company.
I am totally upset, that this company can just go to our credit cards and bill us, they are committing fraud. If anyone of us were to go into someone else's credit card and bill something to it, we would be charged. They are nothing but a bunch of crooks.
To anyone out there who is thinking of attending one of these seminars, FORGET IT, AS YOU WILL REGRET IT. If you want to gain knowledge or get information on Real Estate Investing, buy a book, I have. Who do you think is helping these guys become millionaires, we are, because they are scamming all of our money from us.
How can this company be stopped, I wish I knew, so that I can join hundreds of other innocent people who this is happending to.
