I own a small indipendent mortgage company, and we were looking for a way to get more out of our already lean "online lead" budget. Wetleads was on the internet on a search we contacted them, and they sold us a great concept, "pre-screened, verified, 1003 leads".
We spoke among ourselves for two or three days and then we phoned wetleads back, ready to order with my credit card, but they said they only accepted checks or wire transfers. (Which was really kind of wierd - but we wanted to begin recieving these super leads ASAP.)
Since May 24, 2007 which is when our check cleared we have yet to recieve a call back or any leads.
We have contacted the FBI, which aperently is aware of this situation but we have not received any more help from them either.
Wetleads.com is a well organized "con", because they do business through a third party organization here in the U.S. out of Beverly Hills and sign all contracts as if though the company is in Canada. So the $3750 dollars they stole from us does not make it a "MAJOR" crime for the FBI - apperantly or anyone else that has to deal with International Crimes.
Be very, very cautious, and research all Internet Purchases well before buying anything. I restructured my enitre mortgage operation thinking we were going to get there "Exclusive Timed and Personlized" leads and now I am out all of that money and the $3750 for the 25 "start-up" leads.
