I received a letter dated August 24, 2006 with a check enclosed. The letter stated that I was a prize winner in the British lottery.
It stated that I had won $85, 500, minus the sponsors commission of $5, 301.00 which would leave me with $80, 199.
The enclosed check in the amount of $2, 994.45 was to be used to pay the international clearance fee of $2, 840.00.
The check was from a company called Lockwood & Winant, Inc. at 4-5-6-7 Fulton Fish Market New York, NY 10038 through Chase Manhattan Bank.
I called the claim agent, Monica Davis of SunSource Financial Management group at 306-880-4326 and received a message to call back during business hours. The message box was full when I tried to leave a message.
I did go to Canada a while back, but I thought this was to good to be true so I checked the internet and GUESS WHAT it was. I live in the area of the Fulton Fish Market so that made me suspecious.
