I recieved an anonymous call on August 14 from a man who said he was calling from Canada. He said his name was Christian LeBlanc and he was french. He wanted to inform me I had won $250, 000.00 in a sweepstakes back in 1995. He said they had a class action suit against the people that had taken this money illegally. He said it was in the courts and they were trying to get a plea bargin settlement. He said he would know by August 21, 2006 and would call me back.
He did call on that Monday. He said they had settled for $50, 000.00, as much of the money had been spent. He then went on to tell me it would cost me $1, 000.00 and he was going to transfer me to another person.
When this other man got on the line he told me this had to be done immediately before evening. I told him because of a surgery I couldn't drive so he said I will send a cab out to pick you up and take you to Walmart where you can send the $1000.00 by Money gram and I will now give you the instructions.
I said if this was a class action suit why did I have to pay anything and this was a sweepstakes. He said well if you aren't going to do what I tell you I have to give you back to Christian and hung up. Sounds like fraud wonder how many others he tried to scam.
