In November of 1997, we had Centennial Windows Ltd. replace our siding, all storm windows and front storm door. First of all, they were a FULL WEEK late from the contracted installation date, claiming they were "really busy" and "behind schedule". I should have cancelled the job then and there, but unfortunately, I didn't.
After the job was completed, everything seemed OK at first. Then the problems started - air leaks around some of the windows and also a couple of water leaks during heavy rains. They seem to have fixed the water leaks. Their solution to the air leaks - silicone caulking around the OUTSIDE of the window casing!!! This makes redecorating a challenge, because paint won't adhere to the silicone, making a neat paint job around the windows impossible. Window casing is decoration only - any leaks should be stopped BEFORE the casing goes on.
Closer examination of the siding indicates rather sloppy installation. From a distance it appears OK, but up close? Forget it!
The front storm door is another story. I've lost track of the number of times the handle has been replaced. It is broken again as I write this report, and I had to take it completely off so we could open the door. The handles are on "back order" from their supplier - they "hope" to have them soon.
I have been fighting with this company for 9 years now and getting nowhere. Their products, based on my experience, are junk. Their installation is sub-standard. The service is absolutely TERRIBLE! The owner, Terry Lee, does not take phone calls or answer email messages. Gee... I wonder why???
Bottom line: DO NOT deal with this company! They will rip you off!
