Mark Motors
Bad service

I have had consistently bad service at Mark Motors. I had a problem with my A3 high revving in automatic - mostly 2nd and 3rd gears seeming to stick. Late shifting. Mark Motors told me nothing was wrong, and then changed their mind and said the repairs would be extensive and cost over $2, 000. I took the car to East Motors and they did a diagnostic and found the rear wheel sensor had corroded and might be affecting the transmission signal. I was doubtful, but let them change it. It worked! and only cost me about $80.00. It's been year and no problem since.

Also, I was having problems with a brake jamming- it would handle poorly then I would smell the burning. Mark M. told me twice it was nothing - I was still on warranty - for a few more weeks - go figure. But the third time it happened going100km/hr on a rural hwy and I was very sick. We needed it towed and I had to take a taxi home. Audi sent a regular tow truck instead of a flatbed -could have wrecked the car. They finally sent another one fixed it.

After our warranty expired we refuse to go thee for anything but storing and switching summer/winter tires. Even that turns into a SNAFU. I emailed them a day in advance and reminded the front desk guy - Dan or Mat or something - to have the mechanic check the rear rt brake dust shield while the car was up b/c the left one corroded and fell partially off a month ago. A mechanic in Kingston just changed it for me and advised the other one be done by my regular mechanic asap. They never looked at it. I asked about it and Mat didn't even know what it was so he spoke to the mechanic and I was told "I guess he didn't notice anything." Really? A brand new one vs a 6 yr old one and nothing noticeable? Whatever, I'll just take it to East Motors or Universal in Kingston. So I get back in my car and notice that the lights have been switched fr auto to off. (normal for Mark Motors to do this - don't know why) Also my water bottle top has been unscrewed and moved. Also my radio has been switched from CBC to "Capitale" AND my trip meter has been zeroed! Did they take it for a spin while I was down the road at a coffee shop waiting?? I went in to talk to "Mary" and was told she would talk to the mechanic and get back to me. Nice. I don't know why these guys are still in service.
