This email to the Canadian authorities at [email protected] was totally ignored. Similarly Budget Car Rental does not respond. Apparently 'adjusting' car mileage readings is no big deal in Canada.

Budget Toronto has overcharged us $A1000 on a long-term rental but refuse to respond meaningfully to our emails (case #3462823).
We had an agreed free mileage for 106 days of 12100 kms included in the agreed total rental amount of $C4108, but only covered 11047 kms. Budget agrees with this and I have the documentation.
Budget however chose to insert artificial mileages on each of their monthly invoices despite not sighting the car for 106 days.
As a result of inserting very low mileages up until the last 15 days of the rental they then charged us an extra $A1000 for a very high (i.e., exceeding their ‘daily allowance') mileage in that last short period which ended when we returned the car to the Lester Pearson Airport on 18th September 2010.
I have all the documentation to show how Budget has created these false monthly mileages to its own benefit.
This illegal practice by Budget Ontario has to be stopped (and with full restitution to us) but how do we go about that?
Your advice would be much appreciated.
