I have rented vans from my local Budget Car rental regularly for over 3 years. Always being a model customer.
The van I rented was in a loading dock and the recycling guys banged the rear corner with the bin when they were moving it. The mark was like a thumb had been pushed into a piece of putty - about 3/8" deep.
I pointed this out on returning the van last June and filled out a damage report.
There were a number of other scratches and dents on the van before I took it.
I have just received a letter with the bill to my credit card $428.42
Breakdown: Repair - 4 hours, Refinish - 3.8 hours - Total Labor $276.06 Paint/Materials -$55.20 Then there is the 'Loss of Use"- $65.00 and Admin Charge $50.00 and taxes.
Since they took 4 months to do the repair, I assume it was done along with all the other repairs and maintenance that vehicles require and everyone that made a blemish on the van got charged similar amounts.
I will carry materials on my back before I rent another vehicle from Budget.
