My wife and i found out that we were having our first child and had been having problems with our older car. we decided to trade it in and go with a new car. i did alot of research and test driving. we had a strict budget so we settled with 2001 Kia Sephia, we were very happy with the purchase because it was fully loaded and seemed like a good car to start a family with.
While discussing the car, the sales man stated that we would get 4 free oil changes. the first time i went for an oil change they told me it was 25.00. when i questioned it the sales man told me he did not say that. i was very upset but there was nothing i could do. about a week later, i realized that one of my front headlights were out. i brought the car to the dealership and they told me that they would have to send away for a part which took 3 weeks to come in, and because i was working days i had a hard time getting in to changing them and they were going to send it back. i had to take time out of work to get them to make the switch.
not soon after that the horn went in my car and it took them 2 weeks to order in the horn. the weather stripping on all 4 doors fell off, i went to wash my car and the windsheild split from one end to the other, all 4 tires were bald in less than a year, this caused my car not even to pass inspection, the alternator and went and they also had to fix the brake line.
as you can tell the car that we thought would be a safe family car ended up being the car from hell. we contacted kia Canada about everything, all they did was log a complaint in there computer, like that is going to do anything.
believe me, if you want a good reliable car, do not bUy a kia. i think they know how bad the sephia was when they took them off the market and replaced them with the spectra.
REMEMBER JUST DONT BUY A KIA.
