Thai Airways International
Harassment from check in employee

My friend and I were returning to Canada on March 02, 2010 after visiting Thailand for 2 weeks. Around 6 a.m in the morning, we were refused a boarding pass by a check in employee at row number J-06, based on the assumption that our passports were fake. Her explaination was that our skins are not white. I am not sure if she knew that Canada is a multi ethnic and diverse country or she just had so much prejudice in her mind. We were made to stand and wait for about an hour while our passports were taken away. Even the immigration officer from passport control department did not act the way she did. Our passports were returned to us and our boarding pass issued only after I threatened with a law suit. I hope it is not the policy of Thai Airways to judge and treads it's customers based on their country of origion or the colour of their skin. While it is common that the employees of the Thai Airways International are harassing and humiliating the customers of Asian and African origion the company should address these issues just for the sake of it's reputation as an internationally recognized carrier.
