United Financial Award
Sent fake sweepstakes award letter and check

Company named United Financial Award, Inc. sent award claim notification letter along with fake check. Claimed I had won a lump sum of $55, 000 and that I needed to pay taxes and "an administrative fee" to collect the full amount. No street address or company phone number on the letter.

Instructed me to contact Michael Lewis at 1-647-866-3062 (which shows up as a cell phone in Toronto on reverse phone lookup) before depositing the check, who would "instuct me on the check"

Lots of grammar mistakes, e.g. "... one of our well trained Claim Analyst...", "... every winning must pay its taxes...", "This is to enable you to pay the government applicable taxes and administration fees on your winning.", and my personal favorite: "Payment of the both fees..."

Check looked official, including greyed area on back with "original document" lettered in white and security text. Bank was JPMorgan Chase Bank, 4800 S Salina St, Syracuse, NY 13205. (This address is actually the address for ACMG Federal Credit Union, not JPMorgan Chase) Routing number 021309379 and account number 601816291.
