I received a letter from National Trust Financial Services in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. The letter stated I was a winner in the Compensation Lottery Draw organized for all leading stores in Canada and the U.S. Enclosed was a check that appeared to be authentic for $4, 520.00. The letter stated this check was to be used to pay the Non-Resident Government Service Tax, payable to my tax agent by MONEYGRAM. I was hoping it wasn't a scam, but thought I better research on-line. Of course, it was a scam. I can't believe these people are getting away with this.
