If there is anybody else interested in joining in on a lawsuit against Vacations in Paradise (aka VIP/Nitsua) and Austin Shaw, please read this letter. I have provided our e-mail address below.
I have been following closely the e-mails sent to this website regarding Vacations in Paradise and it's owner, Austin Shaw. My husband I joined the company in August of 2003 for a 49 yr package deal at the cost of $9000. In return, we were to receive, as a bonus, an all expenses paid 7-night Carnival cruise.
When we went to cash in our cruise last December, we were given the run-around and told that we could have the 7-night cruise but we would have to pay for everything else including flights. After approximately 18 contacts with this company, which I have documented each and every one of them, my husband and are were at our wits end and decided to get in touch with our lawyer. We have filed a lawsuit against the company and they have not responded back. We are now waiting for a court date to go before a judge in Barrie and explain our predicament.
Since then, we have heard over the past couple of months that VIP has moved and most recently have found out they are no longer in Collingwood and all phones have been disconnected. I have been in touch with people in Collingwood who either know Austin Shaw or have heard about he company, including City Hall.
Anyone else that is interested in a lawsuit against Shaw and his company can e-mail my husband and I at [email protected]. Although we have heard Shaw is in Mexico, we're still going to keep going with this lawsuit and try to get our money back.
