I became a member on nov 2003, and keep paying no matter if was able to go, then service went really bad [pool will not work for month at a time, no wirpool for weeks, broken equipment like stationary bikes, etc, also personel got very rude, will ask me often to return towells... can you imagine! implaying that i was problably stilling them... old crap I use to step over when dressing...]
Well, for the amount of money i was paying i deserved better... and then taking adavantage of a long trip out of the country, I cancelled on abril 30 2006 [out of politeness I explained that leaving the country for a while, do not know when will be back, may be six months or 12, i do not know...]
Then I came back with a nice tan... and there was a message on sept 4 [that barely understood, very unprofessional, ordering to callback... one thing i got was something like lawer... office].
Call then 5 times then finally someone picked the phone, asked what is going on... after checking my name, was told that I OWNED PRIMIER FITNNES HUNDRED OF DOLLARS... explained then that, I cancelled and she will not listen, just wanted me to pay... I realized it was a collecting agency [before I call them i try to find info about this " lawers" to no avail, they only thing I found out is that the agency is in Hamilton, no website, no company info basically a ghost... asked to send me paper stating the charges, will not do it, " just pay if i do not want my credit to be ruined..." she will repeat.
It looked subreal, a horror story I have read... but had some doubs now was happing to me... finally I told her if she callback I will take them for harrasment.
What a crap, this thing I found out today happened to many people on the same PREMIER, is incredible that it is done on dayly basis on the noses of the authorities, where is the business bureau? why they are allowed to operate on mafia style?
Well, then I called the manager in Ottawa, his replay was that " you did not cancel your membership" also said that the membership was for life or perpetum mobilis [basically while you breath you pay... pathetic, you may have reach 99 years then you find out that you own PREMIER millions of dollars... this is the absurd of the absurditis]
Asked the stonefaced guy, if i did not cancell, why you did not charge my credit card? dont know, ok I said, why nobody bother to call me he inform that i'm being charge, you better come... nothing. [trid to lie his way, saying that someone call me on feb 2007, 4 months after they re-instated by themselves my membership
Finally, the "manager" said that cannot talk to me anymore, basically was directed to call the Toronto office consumers relations...
Now I really done with this, will fill a complain with BBBureau.
This company shoud be take to court, if a class action is arranged I will be there.
