I received a letter and a check for $5200 from General Trust Services. The check looks completely legit with valid acount number. The letter claims that I won $150, 000 and the $5200 check they sent will be deducted from my winnings. It says to contact Jason Long at 604-783-5171 for further instructions and that they are requiring a payment be made through MoneyGram International Wire Transfer.
I was very skeptical and did some internet research where I found alot of good information about this type of "Lottery Scam" as well as others on this site who have received similar letters and checks and stated it was a complete fraud. I did not call any numbers or deposit any checks I shredded all the information and I advise anyone who receives this to do the same.
